Pros

The team on the floor is very cooperative and accommodating when it comes on to getting new personnel into the work culture of the company. The more experience workers on the floor all have great personality and are willing to train the new people coming in and treat you like family. That was the best thing that I experienced for the short time I was there.

Cons

The management team micro-manage and doesn't allow the floor supervisors to exercise their management skills for what I think they were hired in the first place. Because the management team does not allow the supervisors on the floor to lead worker are not treated fairly in any matter that arises. Although I was acting under instruction given be the supervisor my contract was discontinued without consulting my supervisor.

Pros

-The best boss I ever had, store level. -Loved working with most of my team. -Loved helping customers and some even became friends. -Can't go wrong with talking about video games all day.

Cons

-Here we go: After being "temporary assistant manager" for a year because our ASM (Assistant Manager) at the time left. The job posting finally went up. I went to apply for it obviously. I thought I was a shoe in. At that time I had been at that store for 7yrs and was good at my job and got along amazingly well with the staff and customers. But then one day after not hearing back anything about the position I asked my district manager who was visiting the store at the time, what was the status on the ASM position. She became awkward and just said to me, "Well, at this time we would like to have a female in the position." That's right, I was turned down a job because I was a man. The 7+ years of experience meant nothing. Obviously I filed a complaint against my district manager to our HR department under the grounds of sexual discrimination and all they said and I quote, "Maybe you just shouldn't take it so seriously." Yep... So they ended up hiring someone. Someone who had never worked at an EB Games store. I had no ill will towards her because she didn't know the situation before starting. But she was there for 2+ yrs then quit, I was turned down again and my district manager ended up just giving the girl back her job when she asked for it back. So I quit. And since then that same girl has quit multiple times to end up just getting her job back whenever she wants to. -We also used to get written up if customers wouldn't do those little surveys on the bottoms of the receipts. Because sure, we can totally make sure the customer would do them. -They care more about silly metrics than actually making it a nice cool environment for both the customers and the employees. -That's what EB is like. They don't care at all about their employees.

Pros

Team was fantastic; manager was fantastic. Customers were great.

Cons

Upper management did not care about the customer experience; metrics to hit were so short sighted; company really lost touch with the service they provided and who they catered to. Attachments were pushed and were incredibly annoying.
