Pros

Ability to work online and meet people from all over the world

Cons

Management was unorganized and made false promises. They fired almost 50% of the staff without warning, leaving them feeling betrayed and to fiend for themselves last minute. For me, I had just bought a home and it was a huge inconvenience on me and my family to try to find something quickly to pay our bills. Not good, especially when the owner pretended to be my friend. My advise to management: Be honest with your people upfront. Stop selling dreams to your workers. Your unwillingness to truly care for your staff makes it hard to write a positive review. Instead of firing most of the staff that helped create your company, I am sure there were ways you could have made it work, including NOT giving yourself a raise. You'd rather see your staff jobless. SMH. Hope you get it together.

Pros

-Work remotely. - Learned a lot of new skills that have benefited me in my new position. - Maintained healthy connections with former employees who also left

Cons

This company, formerly Coursello, had a great vision at the beginning. The CEO of Coursello hired an incredible team of intelligent creative individuals who were brought together to provide a quality product that was new, fresh, and exciting for the future of education. The CEO was friendly and warm and had a passion for his idea. At some point, an outside company changed the vision of the former Coursello and led them astray. This led to a merger with that company, which led to the new Co-CEO singlehandedly dismantling the vision and the people within Coursello. In January, a group of people were laid off unexpectedly after being promised that nothing would change after the merger. This left the company culture feeling afraid that they may lose their jobs unexpectedly. The company then changed all the benefits, which led to many of us struggling with our medical benefits and a huge pay cut due to the increase in medical insurance. Then in May, a second round of layoffs happened. Over the course of time, the company has let go of approximately 50% of their original employees. The leadership lacks organization, direction, leadership skills, and product. There are too many chefs in the kitchen who want to be in charge and ultimately no one knows what the actual product is of the company. The culture of the company was chaotic, stressful, and unstable.

No Stability and False Promises

Pros

The pay and benefits were great for a while. The flexibility was also great.

Cons

After being promised incredible pay and benefits upon hiring, those all got slashed. There was a merger in February and we were repeatedly told nothing would change, but a huge number of us ended up being laid off or pushed into contract work. The workload was enormous for the teachers, and few people were happy with the direction things were headed. It really felt like the company was being driven into the ground.
