Pros

I had a full week of one on one training to learn the ins and outs of recruiting. I came from the mortgage industry and was comfortable picking up the phone, but needed to learn the technical aspects of recruiting. After the first week, you use your resources and can raise your hand if you need anything, but no micromanaging and there is the understanding that you learn by doing and you have a team to help you through it all. Everyone is so helpful and friendly here, I always feel like I have someone to assist if I need any guidance. The company's owner works in the office with us, and there is an open door policy, so I am learning and growing in all aspects of technical recruiting. There is a solid commissions plan and livable base. The more effort you put into recruiting, the higher and better your commissions (if you like incentives at your work place, you will love this!). Plenty of roles to work and the day to day is fullfilling. It feels GREAT to help other get good jobs with solid companies!!! Comcentric is a small company where we do holiday dinners, trips, sales/contest rewards, birthday and welcome lunches. We work hard, but we enjoy having fun together. For example, we did Secret Santa this year, and ugly sweater and cookie exchange, in addition to our holiday dinner at Perry's Steakhouse. It's a solid group of people in the office and I am really enjoying learning a new industry with the appropriate level of support that I need to grow in my career as a recruiter. I also have work-life balance now! No longer am I in the mortgage industry, where I was easily working 5 unpaid hours of overtime each week, just to keep up with my crazy workload that I had zero control of. I am able to make it to dentist appointments and no longer need to text friends after work cancelling social events because it's 7pm and I still have work to do. Now that I am at Comcentric, I leave the office at normal time and feel healthier mentally, and I make much more in commissions than when I was working 50+ hours (some unpaid) at previous companies. Not suffering from burnout feels priceless at times, so huge bonus to be making more on top of it all here at Comcentric.

Cons

You will need to be open to growing in your technical knowledge, so that you can find the correct candidates. If you have no technical experience, you will need to learn. The more you learn, the more likely your candidates will get placed with the clients and the more money you will make, so it's beneficial to you. However, the team will help you with reviewing resumes and canidate submittals so that it's not sink or swim!
