Pros

Having worked in and around k-12 public school students for the last several years, I knew I stumbled upon something groundbreaking when I was first introduced to our Brook Knoll after-school Code Naturally students. As someone who started believing he'd never excel in mathematics around the age of our students, it's beyond inspiring seeing such young minds turn algebraic and college level programming concepts over in their heads while becoming thoroughly acquainted with concepts that meant little to me at their age, (aside from the monumental frustration they caused.) When Algebra and advanced mathematical concepts are offered to students as tools to realize their own visions, as opposed to arbitrary standards and tasks they must overcome — these young learners internalize concepts I vividly remember struggling with through middle school and beyond. It's incredible to witness how math really is the engine that drives everything we love: from games, to art, animation and design. I look forward to working with Code Naturally staff and students in the months and years to come.

Cons

Requires a self-driven work ethic and genuine interest in education which may not be feasible for everyone.

Pros

Code Naturally supplies an excellent place to learn for both the students and the teachers. Though I am a mentor at Code Naturally, I find myself constantly learning just as much as I am teaching. Everyone around me has this hunger to learn more which drives me and inspires me to continue programming more than any computer science class I have ever taken. Everyone is extremely clear and open about all topics of discussion, which makes it easy to know exactly where the company stands and where everything stands within it.

Cons

Working with kids so frequently essentially dooms you to getting sick once or twice. Always wash your hands as frequently as possible, Chrome Books can get dirty.

Pros

- Helping students gain knowledge and understanding in fields they previously found difficult. - Solving unique problems that have a real impact on education. - As a software developer, I'm always working on different types of problems and never stuck doing the same thing. - Great and talented people - Great remote options

Cons

Plans can change quickly during development requiring you to adapt. As a small company each person ends up having multiple roles on the team, which is also a pro but again requires adaptability.
