I worked at CIBC World Markets full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - overall culture is upbeat and fast-paced
    - pay is great (especially during bonus periods)
    - this is the division that gets the most prestige and attention in the bank

    Cons

    - management only cares about money (therefore, doesn't care about you as much)
    - they pitch an open workplace with support for a varied career, but they take a dump on you if you try to get into a different department by enacting various small underhanded tactics
    - what are glass ceilings
    - what is white privilege

    Advice to Management

consider what drives your employees, give them room to grow into different departments (actually give them time to shadow someone, don't just talk about it), consider updating your strategies for employee retention because the really good ones keep leaving
