I have been working at Architech full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Awesome culture, monthly socials, events, learning budget. Great place to get experience working with different industries.

    Cons

Every few years the company falls into the same trap of focusing on a "new brilliant" strategy that never works out. Although it does appear that this cycle is slowing down.

I have been working at Architech full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Large focus on learning with the learning budget, conference days, learning days and certification bonuses. The people, it's kind of like a fun family environment and most people are really collaborative and nice. The socials are really fun and homecoming. I like spending time with the people I work with, and they give lots of opportunities to do that so I don't have to plan things on my own to be social. Always lots of food (good food, not just pizza). They promote alot within the company. Really good benefits (not all lumped together) and fitness stuff. Really close to Dundas subway, lots of good food around the area and right beside Eaton Center. Opportunity to work from home, and hours are pretty flexible.

    Cons

Upper management never sounds like they're on the same page. Keep putting out new 'strategy' plans but not following through.

I have been working at Architech full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-The onboarding and overall culture at Architech is awesome. I’ve worked at a few corporate companies as well as startups, and Architech is the only one that has ever gotten it right with the perfect mix of warmth, engagement, excitement, and inclusiveness. Everyone loves to hang out with each other after work on homecoming Fridays and at the monthly social events. They also prepped me before starting, had dedicated onboarding days, and periodic check-ins for the first 9 months. - Architech commits to growing their people – we get a very generous learning budget ($1000 annually), as well as 8 dedicated learning days as a team/year, several more individually, and certification rewards. I’m always being encouraged to learn and take these opportunities. -Leadership empowers employees to make an impact with the work they do. In my relatively short time here so far, I’ve been trusted and encouraged to be part of exciting projects, an opportunity I feel I wouldn’t have gotten at another company. They help you achieve your goals by working with you on Personal Development Plans and actively check-in on progress / give support. -The caliber of talent in my coworkers is so impressive. However, they’re also open and approachable, so I’m able to learn from people in every department. - Plus, snacks! And lunches on a biweekly basis. And for someone who has severe allergies, they’re always accommodating me without question.

    Cons

-As with any company implementing new processes and strategic/structural changes, there is an in-between period where things could run a little more smoothly and efficiently. However, there are smart, experienced, and resourceful people making these changes and they’re taking the time to make sure it’s done right and that every employee in onboard and supported.

I worked at Architech full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Technical culture with many opportunities to learn Cooperative instead of competitive culture Sense of community within company Most projects used current technologies

    Cons

Aside from the owners, the management team was constantly changing A constant stream of new business strategies that never went anywhere Some teams were isolated on client sites for extended periods Crowded, noisy, office environment Gossip and mistrust of senior management were rife Unhappiness and frustration were contagious and many left to escape it

I worked at Architech full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

I've worked at Architech for over 8 years Opportunity to work on a vast range of projects, verticals and technology Great environment for individuals who are looking to learn and are self starters Amazing caliber of cross functional teams - Designers, Strategist, Engineers etc , only the elite work at Architech Many opportunities to grow, and to expand your skillset Leadership is very supportive of individuals who come to the table with solutions not just problems Architech is an environment for the strong, smart and independent not for the weak at heart, if you're willing to put the hard work in, your efforts are recognized and rewarded The culture is very open, collaborative and team oriented; ideal environment for Agile best practices to thrive Leadership and Sales continuously strive to get innovative projects for the teams They have a learning budget for individuals to continue self development They provide free lunch every other friday, and have on site days so as to continue to grow the culture of team collaboration They make a solid effort to ensure their employees know they are valued and recognized for their efforts They organize many social events to encourage team camaraderie They recognize anniversaries and celebrate birthdays! Overall, Architech cares about their employees, they listen and make an effort to create a work environment that is fun, safe and worthwhile experience!

    Cons

Every company has growing pains, especially start ups, you can only hope to hire the best, but at times we get a bad apple here and there - unfortunately those bad hires impacted Architech greatly - hence some of the exaggerated negative glass door reviews; but Architech learned from this and are on the up and up. Also, when trying to implement new ideas, it didn't always go smoothly and some people consider this as a con of Architech - but if you haven't ever failed at anything, then it means you've never really attempted anything challenging, and if you ask anyone whom you consider successful, they will tell you that success requires failure; soI rather be part of a team that has the courage to try something new, (especially when you call yourselves innovative, creative, engineering company) than to be part of a team that does the same mundane comfort task day in and day out.

I have been working at Architech full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    * Good downtown location * Reasonable compensation packages * Company culture is great and they promote collaboration among different teams which is very healthy * Using and promoting modern tech stack. * Most of the team follow agile development practices. Steps are being taken in the company to be more agile savvy. * Good learning budget and nice people to work with * CEO is very friendly to employees and has technical background. He is always there to answer questions about company and its progress * Free lunch every other Friday

    Cons

    * Company needs to improve a little more on their relationship with clients. With company of this size they are doing pretty good but since new projects are coming in , Architech needs to be more vigilant on agile practices and educating clients as well on those practices.

I have been working at Architech full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - I've enjoyed interesting engagements, large and small, for over 8 years with Architech - modern tech stack (Angular, React, Nodejs, Spring, Kubernetes) at the core of most projects - agile delivery model without demand for arbitrary overtime is good for work/life balance - great, great coworkers :D - loads of support and opportunity in all roles to build your career (I've seen product owners become engineers, PMs become salespeople, etc.) - good challenge in moving between projects and ramp up on specific tech for specific engagements - everyday focus is on producing well-engineered, well-tested solutions for our clients

    Cons

    - agile delivery model internally is not always supported by agile planning by the client (due to client knowledge / purchasing department constraints / norms, etc.) - true agile purists will need to adapt / be a role model for change
