Red flags everywhere

Pros

Nice facilities and co-workers, catered lunch

Cons

Management is notoriously manipulative at this company. Beware of red flags of the company being a “family” etc. Management will constantly underpay compared to its competitors and make promises that never come to pass. Classic red flags, beware of what you’re getting into.

Pros

Most folks I directly worked with were fantastic. Big clients, free lunches/snacks/drinks as per other Glassdoor reviews. Comfy office near flat iron and Madison square park was nice.

Cons

Rude owners and some others. Certain things promised during the hiring process that are always pushed back every few months with new reasons/excuses. Lots of busy work and fake niceness, but that’s how entry level jobs in the industry go— just the nature of the beast. Would not recommend to a friend.

Pros

Nice office Good area Snacks available for free

Cons

My time at Arcade Edit (NY location) was cut short because I quickly realized that this was not a company I could trust. I was told throughout the interview and onboarding process that the salary would become negotiable (previously minimum wage) after a 3-month trial period. When that time came, my trial was extended for 2 months with little explanation. When I finally completed my trial period, I was told the salary was never negotiable and that I would be staying on minimum wage because it “wouldn’t be fair” to those who were also on minimum wage for years at the company. This concerned me because it was not what I signed up for, and I was met with snarky responses that I “wasn’t ready” for above minimum wage when I brought this up. For more context, I have a bachelors degree and that was required for the job, as well as previous experience in my field above minimum wage. On top of that, I was one of the only people to come into the office, and when I got covid or had been exposed to covid, I was given no PTO or protection, despite being one of the few employees who could not work from home. There were no covid protocols in place, myself and another new employee had to write them up for the company. Management was supposed to help us with the protocols but was incompetent regarding covid safety. It’s ridiculous that we had to put these measures in place, especially since we “weren’t ready” for higher pay. The protocol would also conveniently change depending on if there was coverage for our shifts. It’s clear that this company does not care about their employees. Management did not even bother to respond to my resignation letter where I outlined why I was leaving. The company makes millions a year and can clearly afford to pay a livable wage.
