Pros

The compensation is package is fair and there is vacation time.

Cons

We don't have a qualified Engineering Executive in place to write world-class code. We need an architect who has the ability to understand how everything comes together. If building a product is like building a car, you have to understand all the different layers: computing, storage networking, data center infrastructure... It's not just the carburetor, but understanding the nuances of the set-up to make the connections work.

We disagree with your assessment of our leadership team and it’s disappointing that you felt this was the best avenue to share your opinion as we work hard to maintain a sincere open door policy. We would like to be able to address these concerns over open dialogue with either your Manager or HR. Igloo has evolved from a small intranet company to a leading global digital workplace solution provider. Our executives across the company are driving strategy and focused on running the business of Igloo, and only make nuts and bolts decisions if, and when, they have to. We rely on SME’s and our functional leaders to make technical and tactical decisions to support our strategy and have an expert team of technical leaders who are focused on design, architecture and how to incorporate modern tooling and tech into our product. Igloo operates in a highly competitive, fast paced environment and we are driven to innovate and lead the industry. It’s the type of workplace where agile, collaborative and innovative people will thrive.

Pros

Glad I left the company.

Cons

I used to work at Igloo Software and I am glad I have moved onward to a new company. I was browsing the reviews, and saw the response given by an HR BP - the traditional HR 'in-the-box' response. **Before change can be happen and perhaps it begin within HR ?? Maybe an awakening can begin, so read the following below: - HR people seem to take the company's side in any interaction, never the employee's side. - HR staff members are not impartial or fair. Their desire to keep their jobs, and earn a bigger salary and their next promotion, keep them from acknowledging the legitimate employee point of view. - HR people stand idly by while incompetent executives, get promoted. - HR people often spout policy instead of actively getting involved to remove roadblocks their employees face. - HR people are not viewed as trustworthy, even though they say, "Tell me what's on your mind!" - HR people often "know HR" but don't know anything about the business they work for. - HR people are seen as political and more concerned with their own place in the company's pecking order than with the welfare of the team. - HR people talk more about policies, benefits and other announcements than they talk about culture, fear, trust, conflict or any of the million human issues that arise in every organization. - HR people often have trouble seeing the "human side" of any issue, from a time-off request to a variation in a pay-grade or a hiring issue, focusing instead on keeping every process uniform and exception-free. - HR people should be Ministers of Culture in their organizations, BUT exists only to protect the company. Any protection of a person/employee/salary slave is a random by-product of protecting the company (aligned with a process).

Pros

I had a few good friends there.

Cons

CEO is a con man and the cause of all the internal problems. Dan mocks and insults every person in the company(using words Glassdoor would ban me for). He screams like a child during meetings because nothing is ever good enough. He is the cause for huge turnover and lost sales. Then, because the product can’t scale, he insults and screams at everyone. Igloo life is spent on a pathetic and unnecessary goal: how do we avoid being yelled at by this sociopath? You only survive if you can sit there and take verbal punishment, swearing at and insulting you. Insults are also passed to clients who “stupid” for wanting software that is modern. To make this even worse, Dan acts as if he is the CEO ABOVE ALL, a gift to man. Instead he’s a short little man over-compensating by telling everyone, “I’M THE CEO”. 99% of my coworkers were miserable and planning on leaving as soon as possible. Please read all reviews. All five star reviews read like advertisements. Then, look at the numerous one star reviews which repeat the same theme. Dan is cancer.

Thank you for your feedback. I want you to know that I read each and every Glassdoor review and that I take the feedback seriously. Igloo operates in a very competitive industry which requires us to adapt quickly in order to stay ahead of our competition and to maintain the fast pace of growth we continue to experience. You’ll find this in any technology company, and perhaps even more so at Igloo over the past year. During this time, every employee has had to evolve and adapt to this new, dynamic environment, and as a result, they have grown leaps and bounds both professionally and personally. This is an incredibly exciting time at Igloo and I understand that not everyone enjoys working in this type of environment. As the CEO of a leading tech company, tough decisions often have to be made to ensure the company and employees are positioned well for years to come and to best serve our customers. These decisions are not taken lightly and will never please everyone. One thing that will never change is my passion, drive, and my relentless pursuit of excellence in everything we do for Igloo and its employees. For anyone reading our Glassdoor reviews that is considering a career at Igloo, I encourage you to talk to current employees in order to get a more complete view of the culture and environment at Igloo.
