Cash out while you can

Pros

Some of the projects have high value, and for these, try to take as many hours as you can

Cons

Work can stop at any time. You can make 1000-1500 a week down to 0 in no time, and might or might not see work again.

Stole 40 Hours of My Life

Pros

None actually, impolite, unprofessional team, no actual communication, tons of people complaining about the unpaid/delayed work, feels like they steal from their clients by removing workers who they owe money to

Cons

Hi everyone. I've read tons of stories on Alignerr being unpaid for work and removed just before the payment. Well, unfortunately, I still tried to work for them. I was hired for a project called Vera, VAD, voice activity detection, paid at $80/data row. I passed the evaluation for a $100 bonus, then completed 25 data rows, so that would total to $2,100 in earnings from last week. This week, the payment should be processed between tomorrow and Friday. I sent them an e-mail asking if I will get paid. It should be processed on Friday at the latest, so we'll see. However, they keep replying that the "decision is final" without giving me any reason as to what I violated. My rating was above average (4.0, the average was 3.5), and most of the reviewers said that I did my work perfectly, which I am confident, as I am a diligent worker. The support doesn't allow contacting them and provides an automatic response that the "payment will be withheld due to community rules violations". No violations were stated. No contact information is available, the chat does not work, and their information on the homepage that you will get paid after deactivation is not consistent with this.

Not what I expected - be careful before sharing your data

Pros

• The idea of connecting specialists to flexible projects looks pretty promising. • Remote work concept and hourly pay rates look attractive on paper.

Cons

• You’re asked to provide full KYC ID verification and a recorded AI interview before you get any confirmed contract or project. • Terms give the company “unlimited, irrevocable, worldwide” rights to your interview data - this felt excessive and unclear for a role that might never start. • It happened to me and multiple people other people I spoke to - our accounts were deactivated after interviews (or how they called it "AI interview" during your "onboarding", with no payment and no further explanation. Ofc it was fishy - they were already calling it an "onboarding", but it was actually the step where they record you interacting with their AI to improve their models and as per their T&C - at this point you will have waived your rights to all the information your provided during the interview, including the video recording of you. • No clarity on who is legally responsible for payment - Alignerr, Labelbox, or G2i — which makes it hard to know who to contact if something goes wrong. • Communication felt generic and rushed, with emphasis on getting through onboarding rather than confirming actual work.
