Pros

Good 401K (7.5%) and PTO policy

Cons

I don't even know where to start. I'll be writing a lengthier review in the future but for now, I'll just bullet a few points. - Employee feedback is not considered - Change in leadership every year - Constant organizational restructuring - CEO (Wendy Colby) uses buzzwords to grab attention in townhalls, but is extremely underqualified to be an executive for an IT based company. - Largest enterprise-wide project failed after 3 years of work. - Most employees are disgruntled with the company - Company moral is always low - Terrible culture - No room for upper or even lateral mobility - No raises or bonuses. Not even cost of living increases While these are my opinions, many (if not most) colleagues expressed similar sentiments as mine. Without the financial backing of UMGC , this company would have gone under a long time ago.

Pros

PTO, sick leave, flexible work from home

Cons

Tracy Woods (CEO), the sycophants that surround her, 'ask no questions' culture, lack of communication, no direction, 'over promise, under deliver' and then blame the people that couldn't meet your unrealistic timelines. Tracy has hired between 30 and 40 people from her previous employer (American Public University). These hires were all brought in without job postings nor looking for internal candidates. These hires get put on the best projects and get sent to the best assignments. They all conform to Tracy's version of a perfect employee, namely 'ask no questions, do as you're told.' Any questions to Tracy, no matter how benign, are viewed as 'against the team' and are a negative. In the end, Tracy forces out or fires anyone who opposes her. Accelered's biggest project has no chance to deliver by April. The initial deadline was pulled out of the air, with no analysis or project management to support it. Project management basics are to list your tasks, supply estimates for them, then work out delivery dates. This was not done. There is no list of tasks. There are not estimates nor dependencies associated with the tasks that have been identified. There is no set scope, so new items are constantly being added. There is not a project plan, so there is no way to know how close or far the project is to completion. The internal processes for the project are rolled out without analysis or thought, fail, and then are changed and rolled out again. Wash, rinse, repeat. Finally, since Tracy took over, over 70% of the staff that started at Accelered have left. Think about that: 70%! How does she still have a job?

Cronyism, lack of real leadership, and sycophants (Oh My!)

Pros

Great benefits (e.g. Medical, PTO, Retirement) The staff (i.e. not leadership) is hard working and nice.

Cons

This company is run by Tracy Woods. Tracy has filled the ranks of upper management with sycophants from American Public University who lack the experience necessary to run a division of IT, let alone an entire company providing IT services. If you decide that saying yes to everything Tracy wants does not work for you, then you will not be welcomed by her or the cronies that surround her. If you have an idea that does not align with Tracy's vision, you will not be invited to any discussions. You will not be fired from AccelerEd. They are too afraid of litigation to fire people, even if it is justified. Instead, the leadership team will make your life miserable until you decide to leave on your own accord. The staff have become so beat down and demoralized that the general feeling around the office is depressing. There is a large amount of apathy in the workplace due to lack of autonomy and decision making for the staff. Do not work here. It will cost you your sanity and well-being.
