Interview
I arrived early to my interview time and they kept me waiting in the conference room for a good 20 minutes. Then I had 3 consecutive interviews with the current sales manager, managing partner and majority owner. A little grueling, but manageable.
When it came to MY questions, I asked them how the majority owner felt about the use of humiliation as a management tool. He was surprisingly candid and stated that " a little humiliation was effective as a motivator for salespeople". I should have walked away at that point, because humiliation, intimidation and threats are all they use on the salespeople from day one - in training, in sales meetings, in person and in writing.
I learned from a male candidate that during his interview, the managing partner held forth for several minutes about how stupid and ignorant women were and that they had no head for business. My experience included a lot of contempt for not only the female office managers of the clients/ decision makers, but also for the client base itself, which I thought was very odd. This tacit opinion of disgust and contempt for the market members continued and was expected to be shared by all the salespeople.
We are sorry to hear that you believe we have any contempt for females and that you did not enjoy your employment at iCare. All of the senior executive at iCare are female and we have respect for our clients. In addition, we value our employees and are dedicated to their success.

Learn and regurgitate the most boring script you've ever seen. They'll give you the materials to do so, and as long as you can do it without sounding like a robot you'll be fine. Then listen to the CEO drone on about what "being a salesman" means, nod politely, and you're in.
