I applied for the role through an employee referral and I was contacted by recruiting about a week later. They were in a hurry to meet candidates so they had me come in to meet two of the members on their team.
The interviews itself were pretty straight forward. They asked questions such as:
- Why Yelp? Why BD? Why now?
- Between strategy, product management, and partnerships, what area interests me most?
- Tell me about an interesting partnership that Yelp should pursue? Why does this partnership make sense? Who would you bring? What would you prepare?
However, one of the interviews was quite unprofessional. The interviewer showed up 50 minutes late to the interview. and even during the interview the interviewer was half engaged because they were checking their smartphone literally every 10 minutes during the interview. This was helpful - I decided to pull my candidacy as it helped me to decide that I didn't want to work with colleagues like that.
