I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp in Aug 2019
Interview
I applied to the new grad role online and received the Hackerrank shortly after. The online assessment was a simple graph question, assessing which nodes are accessible from specific starting positions given a limited travel distance. After that, I was quickly reached out to for a technical video interview. There was a disconnect between what the recruiter described the interview to be and what it actually ended up being. The recruiter said the interview would have resume questions, knowledge questions, and "potentially a coding question". The first thing my interviewer told me when we started was that this interview would be solely a coding interview. Not a big deal because I was expecting a coding question either way, but just something to note. The question wasn't too complicated, and I felt I had a good grasp of what to do in order to solve it efficiently. My interviewer was very nice and accommodated for technical issues I had at the start of the interview, and she was great with answering questions at the end. That being said, I didn't move forward.

Question 1
Hackerrank: simple graph question, assessing which nodes are accessible from specific starting positions given a limited travel distance
Video interview: given a list of dictionaries, each storing a sender, receiver, and message, determine who has received/sent the most messages (each message must be unique, or else it doesn't count)
I applied online. I interviewed at Yelp (Ciudad de Mexico) in Sep 2025

Coding Challenge
Screening Interview
Panel Interview (system design, 2 coding challenges, cultural interview)
The process was very long but all of the people at Yelp that were involved in my interview process were very kind and easy to speak with,

Question 1
If you can come to an agreement with a collegue, and you need to escalate, how would you handle it?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Yelp in Mar 2025
Interview
There was an initial online coding challenge followed by a recruiter call. This was then followed by a further chat with the team manager where we did a deep dive into projects. I was then given the final round that is a 3hr interview consisting of 4 45 mins interviews. While waiting for the interview to come up, I was sent an email saying the position was filled.
you receive an email with instructions, once your resumen pass. So, the first filter is a hackerrank of 60 minutes it does not have a deadline, but while more earliest do it, you have more chances to move through their procces
