I was shortlisted for the Front-End Developer role at YelloSKYE and was given a technical assignment to complete within 72 hours. I put in considerable effort over three days, completing the task thoroughly and even providing a GitHub repo, live demo, and a detailed walkthrough video.
Unfortunately, after submitting everything on time, I never heard back from them. No acknowledgment, no feedback, not even a basic courtesy message saying whether I was selected or not. It felt like my time and effort were completely disregarded.
Investing several days into a task only to be ghosted reflects very poorly on the professionalism of both YelloSKYE and the hiring partner (Bask HR). Candidates deserve at least a basic level of communication — especially after completing a technical assignment.
Advice to Management:
Respect candidates' time. If you request a detailed technical task, the least you can do is acknowledge the submission and close the loop with clear communication. Ghosting after a task is highly unprofessional and hurts your employer brand.
