Got a interview call in-person straight, did not have any phone interview. I went for interview, met 2 managers, and one rep. Interview went well, straight forward questions, spent around 15-20 minutes with each of the managers and the rep. They all were friendly, and the ended the interview with positive comments. Next day in the morning, one of the managers I interviewed with called back, to invite me for next round of interviews with a manager, and director of IT. I also got email and call from an HR rep to have a background check of me. I got call from my previous employer that Xactly is doing a background check on me. Sound promising for now, my hopes were high, however, the battle is not over until the offer is given. Three days later, I went for the second round of interviews. It started off with meeting the director of IT. The strange part was he mentioned "let me open up Google in my laptop here to find some questions to ask"..He was choosing random questions that had absolutely no connection to position or my background. Of course, there are always behavior questions that employer may ask, but this guy only asked behavior question, which I later discovered on Google 's list of tricky questions...in other words, I got the impression, this guy just wants to ask tricky questions, and get over with it. He just spent 20 mins, and said he has a meeting, and whether I have any questions for him..I asked couple of questions, and his answered were "I don’t know, i am not familiar with the position you are applying for"...the dumbest question that i have ever came acroos from any employer here was "there has to be something you did not like in your last job, what would that be, and whose fault is that?"..in other words, making me say something negative,,which I still did not say anything negative..still again he asked,,whose fault is that?
Tha manager came if after to interview, just asked one question, and went straight to "i dont have any question, you have any questions for me" . i asked few question, interview ended..and all my hopes died...First round was excellent, company environment and culture looked excellent, but interview with this director, was just the worse interview I ever had...not only because, I may have not done well, but the questions asked by him, made me rethink on whether i see my self working with such people...i still see a great fast growing company, great culture, but a heads up for future interviewers.
