The hiring process was unstable and did not have enough safeguards. I received a formal job offer, a written employment agreement, and a confirmed start date. Based on this, I gave my two weeks’ notice at my existing job in good faith.
After the offer was given, the company changed its hiring process because of internal leadership changes and applied the new process to candidates who already had offers. As a result, my offer was withdrawn, and I was left without a job because of this decision.
This had a serious professional and personal impact on me and shows a lack of alignment and risk awareness in the hiring process, especially during leadership transitions.
Advice to Management:
Make sure leadership alignment and hiring approvals are fully complete before sending job offers and employment agreements. If hiring processes change, those changes should apply going forward, not to candidates who have already relied on written offers. Stronger safeguards are needed to prevent this from happening to others.
