I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Lakewood, CA) in Jul 2015
Interview
Three Interview Process.
First interview I spoke to the customer service manager. It was brief and asked about 5 situational questions. At the end of the interview she told me that they have a 2nd interview at 3:00 and expected me to be there.
The 2nd interview was with the department manager (I believed) made me sign my application to make sure everything was correct, and asked me why I wanted the job, and then went on with 3 more situational questions. At the end of the interview he told me that they are still doing more interviews the next day that they should be calling for 3rd interviews Friday or Saturday. I didn't get the call for a 3rd interview until about a week later. I was lucky enough that my interviews were back to back. I talked to other people who had gotten the job as well during the drug testing and they told me they waited about 4 days for the 2nd interview.
The 3rd interview was just with the store manage which only lasted not even 5 minutes. Just told me to tell me about myself. Then told me they still have to put me in the system and the 2nd interview would call me the next day to sign some more papers and give me a paper to do the drug testing.
Its been about 4 days since I took the drug test and haven't heard anything back since then. I know I am good, but I heard sometimes the background checks take a few days to a week, and they still have to setup for orientation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Name a time when you disagreed with someone, what steps did you take to resolve it and what was the outcome?
Easy to accomplish and not very difficult. Seemed if you used common sense you’ll be okay. Just be yourself and go in there prepared. Good luck! I didn’t get an offer but I was fine with that.
Fairly easy. Multiple rounds. Just have positive attitude. They’ll do an initial round. And then you meet with 2 other supervisors on 2 different occasions. They just want to make sure you will be friendly to customers and be able to listen and follow directions
The interview was fine but you definitely get the big box store vibe. It was a bit rushed through, I could tell the manager was going through the motions but I also don’t necessarily expect anything more.
