Every year associates from across Canada gather in Toronto for our annual Year Beginning Meeting (YBM). It’s an opportunity for us to celebrate last year’s highlights as we look forward to what’s to come! At each YBM, we present outstanding associates with awards celebrating their achievements from the past year. We’ll be spotlighting some of our winners here in the coming weeks. First up: Store Manager Maude St Jean and store 3002 in Comeau, QC, winners of our 2022 Community Giving Award! This award recognizes stores that have made a positive impact in the communities they operate, including their performance in fundraising campaigns. Store 3002 surpassed its fundraising goals for all four of our national charity partners this year! Walmart Canada’s four charity partners are Breakfast Club of Canada, Canadian Red Cross, Food Banks Canada and Children’s Miracle Network. A huge thank you to Maude and all associates at store 3002 for your inspirational and outstanding support of your community!
Happy birthday to…us! We turn 29 today! 🎂 🥳 Walmart launched in Canada in 1994, with 122 stores across the country. We’ve expanded just a little since then! We now have more than 400 stores across Canada and employ more than 100,000 associates, making us one of the country’s biggest employers. More than 3 million customers choose to shop with us in-store and online, every day. We now work with close to 2,000 local suppliers across Canada, helping to support and grow Canadian businesses. We also support the communities in which we operate, raising and donating over $650 million to Canadian charities since 1994. Click below to read more about Walmart's history in Canada.

Yes - i work at Walmart in Kentucky -- the atmosphere there is TERRIBLE. Store manager is more concerned about getting product on the shelves and less about customer service. Has the whole store "doing more with less" -- only a handful of staff on per shift and they are expected to do the work of two or three people.

Management at Walmart is astounding in a way. They push you beyond your limits and then tell you that's not good enough. They also make sure to time you, so if you have test anxiety I don't recommend working there. Their vending machines in their break room are always broken. Once I was putting away a pallet with one other coworker and my boss and team lead came over to complain about our speed and then started hanging out over the boxes we had to put away.. I hope this helped. Walmart
