I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Lansing, MI) in Sep 2010
Interview
Stop wasting your time and calling in to check on your application. This company has 2 lists, A and B. A list consists of current employees that want to change departments and the best of the best from the applications. The B list is considered if the A list fails to produce someone to fill the position. If they want you then you will get a call. You have an interview with usually a zone manager first. If they like you then the next interview is done with an assistant manager. Sometimes one right after the other. Then you sign a form for a background check and are given paperwork for a drug screening. If both come back with on issues then they call you for orientation. Total
takes about 2 weeks. They are pretty laid back and in no way formal.

There was a lot of questions but overall it went pretty decent. They were your standard interview questions. I am happy with the outcome but maybe I could do better next time.
The interview was brief but straight forward. I interviewed with someone and was done within 15 minutes. They asked a few questions about myself and past job experience. Then I progressed to the next steps in the hiring process. The next steps where orientation.
