I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at W.E. Matter (Mumbai) in Jan 2025
Interview
Round 1 (Machine Coding Round on Call)
- Had to make UI similar to github heatmap and fetch data from external api and render a table and make it sortable via columns.
- 1 coding question - Longest Consecutive Sequence.
Round 2 (HR Round)
- On call with co founder asked few questions about why you want to join, where you see yourself in 5 years, and typical HR questions
Round 3 (Offer Received)
- Got the offer but didn't join as it was not per my expectations
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at W.E. Matter (Mumbai) in Nov 2023
Interview
I was reached out by HR via linkedIn, on asking about their budget, they said that they have budget.
Now first round was telephonic interview round taken by their engineer, asking basic question about http, asking about experience, nothing major.
Then I had interview rounds with their CTO, CEO & what not, simply by talking to them you can get an idea that they are not knowledgeable in technology & for me they started asking if I can do data science, ML which is irrelevant for backend engineer. All these rounds were taking place late in night.
During these interviews I asked HR about their budget & proper JD, but no satisfactory answer
All of this process took around 3 weeks, & they would offer you 5% meagre hike on current CTC.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Tell about HTTP methods
- Which is faster GET or POST
- What technologies you have worked on
- What is your CTC ?
