The first stage felt like a screening process with the recruiter. Communication was poor, pre-set questions without leaving room for much nuance. The recruiter seemed really disorganised.
A two week gap ensued without any communication, positive or negative. After chasing, a 2nd interview was arranged. No prep provided, I had to chase it. No real agenda which is fine, as experience should carry you through regardless. There were red flags, curiosity got the better of me to see what lay ahead.
The 2nd stage was an interview with the co-founders. A weird experience. Firstly, they were both late by around 15 minutes without explanation. One of the co-founders sat slouched throughout, in a hoody, seemingly disinterested with the whole thing from the minute he joined like I have inconvenienced his day.
The questions didn’t allow room for elaboration on complicated subjects/processes. They felt a little “gotcha”, which isn’t really necessary for the role type. There was a lack of curiosity as to what has driven success.
No surprise, but again zero follow up afterwards. Attrition issues were mentioned as a problem internally (customers), if communication/professionalism is anything like the interview process, I can understand why.
