I read up on this company before going in to hear their spiel for myself. I had read about their past law suits and saw that they supposedly tried to clean up their acts.
-They target young people (high school age and early college) who do not understand the gravity and responsibility entailed with being an independent contractor.
-They are extremely vague in the job description (with shady reason)
I was prepared for a rouse. I went in to their tiny office, they had us fill out an application in their waiting area. They put on indie pop music in the waiting area. I was brought back with one other person to be asked a few questions. When I asked if the job would require me to make physical presentations to people and the interviewer said "I cannot answer that question, those questions will be answered in the next interview step". The next step being the guy presenting the CutCo knives like it is the best thing since sliced bread. A strategic trap for youngsters who think "wow, this will be easy". They expect you to sell to your friends and family and when that well dries up you are supposed to literally door to door it and cold call it. Rather than waste my time and theirs I left before the "second interview step."
If you are young and you just want something on your resume then go for it. Please be aware that as an independent contractor you must pay your own taxes.
