Applied online. Received follow-up from HR about a week later. Had a 30 minute conversation that went well over but it was because we both were having a great conversation. Got invited to a 30 minute conversation with the hiring manager. Couple days later got invited for on-site. Interviewed with five individuals on the team. Asked behavioral and high-level technical questions.

Question 1
What's the difference and benefits between containers and virtualization?
applied through a referral and didn't hear back for at least a week. once communication channels started, process seemed to moved fairly quick. had phone screen and immediately moved to next stage - zoom call with two of their program managers. Zoom interview wasn't anything different from pre-COVID: 1. previous experience - how is it same or different 2. expectations - benchmarking, deadlines, current challenges 3. time to ask questions to sniff out fit

First you have a call with a recruiter where you generally talk about yourself and why you are interested in the company and position. Prepare for multiple questions about VMware. Then I had a call with two directors where they asked me multiple situational questions and at the end I had a call with the VP of the department and I had to do a presentation on something that I'm passionate about.
