I interviewed at U.S. Center for SafeSport (Denver, CO)
Interview
It was an incredibly long process with four interviews, during which I met around 20 team members. This raised concerns, but I continued because of my interest in the mission. The final interview required me to take vacation leave, prepare a presentation, and travel to their office without reimbursement. During that interview, it was clear that the hiring manager was disengaged and disinterested from the start, which was disappointing. I was also told the final interview would include leadership and the CEO, but that was not the case. They should have rejected me earlier to save me time and money. The entire process was very time consuming, only to receive a rejection with no feedback.
Conversation panel with 3 employees: 2 supervisors and 1 colleague. Interview was virtual over Teams. Very laidback and relaxed interview. Turned into really good conversation. I pulled out of the running after being offered a second interview. Due to recent arrest of one of their investigators and national concern about their vetting that seemed to be stretched by the media, they added a part of the selection process that involved a background statement and conversation with the CEO/Director.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at U.S. Center for SafeSport
Interview
Initial interview is virtual, panel interviewers are very friendly, and the questions are not difficult as long as you take the time to prepare. Second interview was in-person, same friendly environment, but less than a day later they sent a generic email that they wanted to go with other people without any feedback. Very discouraging, hard to gage why, and also was frustrating as I had spent my own money and a lot of time for the both interviews.
