I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc in Aug 2024
Interview
I interviewed specifically for an Android role there.
Typical process:
- Initial phone screening
- Onsite
- Two technical interviews: One looking at code and the other building a basic list.
- Hiring manager round
- Collaborating behavioral round where you speak with someone in product
The process took about a month.
I thought I had this in the bag since I was pretty vocal about my thinking, made sure to keep the interviewers engaged in both the technical rounds while giving tradeoffs and testing strategies. That isn't enough I suppose.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How does the logic of this bit of code fail and how would you go about rewriting it?
Leetcode style 1 hr technical along with 1 hr behavioral with pretty standard questions. Interviewers were both really nice and hardest part of technical were the follow-up questions but the interviewer was very helpful.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2026
Interview
I scheduled a first round technical interview. Recruiter emailed 2 days later saying position filled. Very disappointing. Phone screen was good descriptive and helpful. Shoukd of flagged rolling hiring. Was for junior engineer role.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Toast Inc (Bengaluru) in Mar 2026
Interview
Overall, the interview experience was good, with questions ranging from a moderate to slightly challenging level. There were a total of four rounds, and the difficulty progressively increased with each stage. The initial rounds focused on fundamental concepts and gradually moved toward more in-depth problem-solving and advanced topics in later rounds. This progression allowed for a structured evaluation of both core understanding and the ability to handle complex scenarios.
