I got a random a Linkedin message from an internal recruiter at Tesco telling me they had reviewed my LinkedIn profile and thought I would be suitable for a position there. They asked if they could call me to discuss the position, I gave them my number and he called to discuss my experience.
He then sent over the job description for me to review, I sent him my CV which he passed on to the hiring manager. Got a call the next day to ask if I could come in for an interview in 4 days time.
The interview was with the hiring manager in their Farringdon offices, she seemed like a nice and approachable person. The interview went ok though I didn't think the role sounded like exactly like was described to me by the recruiter.
Let the interview thinking this role wasn't for me but also that i didn't have the skill set experience they were looking for, So was pretty sure I wouldn't get invited back for a follow up interview or get an offer.
That's fine as not everything is goi g to work out, but what I do expect after an interview is some communication from the internal recruiter.
I heard nothing from him after my interview, he didn't even have the manners to email me to say that "I wasn't what they wanted" "Or that another candidate had really stood out".
If he had done that I would have thought fair enough, good process but not for me. But the lack of respect and good manners has led me to write this review about Tesco.
