They start with an introductory presentation, giving an overview of the TATA group and TCS in particular. The process is thoroughly explained and they hint at their requirements, so make sure you pay attention. The first round is an online aptitude test. Once cleared, you can have 2 or 3 interviews, as per their demands.
In my case, I had 3.
1st was a technical interview, wherein the IT basics (viz. DBMS, java, HTML) were asked. I was even asked some puzzles.
2nd was a management interview, wherein they give you hypothetical situations to analyze how well would you fit in a project team, as a leader, or otherwise. They also test your adaptability in this round.
The final round was an HR round which was pretty chilled out. It can be a cakewalk if you know yourself, as in your strengths, weaknesses, priorities, abilities etc. I was also asked to sing 2 songs. Ensure that if asked to do so, you do not hesitate.
These interviews test less on what you know, but on your ability to learn. Thus mugged up answers would not benefit the candidates.
Verdict: TCS values human resource, so they make you feel comfortable. Thus, if you are honest and respond genuinely and worthily, you are almost sure of getting through.
