The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target (Minneapolis, MN) in Jan 2010
Interview
Posted my resume in my school's career services website
Contacted via email to schedule a 30-minute phone interview for December 2009
Mid-December 2009, had a 30-minute phone interview with the senior recruiting manager for the area (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, maybe some other states). All S-A-R questions (situation - action - result). Actual questioning took about 20 minutes, so have at least 5 good questions to ask your interviewer because otherwise it'll be awkward and it's not a good sign to peace out on the interview with 10 minutes remaining
Silence for a month
Early January 2010 - received multiple emails from HR requesting me to fly up to Minneapolis for a 2nd round (final round) interview at headquarters. Target pays for everything, so don't sweat that - it's pretty sweet.
Arrived on a Thursday night, saw the town and used my per diem.
Friday = all day interaction with Target. Presentations, tours, luncheon. Then there are two 30-minute behavioral based interviews with some of the higher-ups. Again, all S-A-R questions. Have plenty of questions to ask each person you interview, otherwise you will be leaving after 15 minutes. 3:00pm, wine and cheese reception/drunk.
Saturday = leave.
About 5 days later I received a phone call from the same senior recruiter from the initial interview back in December 2009. Received the offer to start in August 2010.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to convince others or a group to adopt your point of view.
It consisted of a phone screen with HR followed by 30-minute virtual interviews with three others. Overall, the process was pretty smooth. I was surprised there was no in-person portion.

Question 1
Very much follow a scripted style interview with set questions, did not feel conversational
I applied online. I interviewed at Target (Minneapolis, MN) in Sep 2024
Interview
had the first interview but I know there were three steps in total. When I got scheduled for the next round it was the technical interview with a panel of three team members from their IT department. I did not move on to the final and third round interview.
