I applied online. I interviewed at Target (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2013
Interview
Applied after going into store and asking if they were hiring. Received a call 2 days later to schedule a phone interview the next day. Phone interview was very simple, mostly questions about previous retail experience, which I did not have but answered to best of my ability. After about 4 days, I called the hiring manager and asked if I could come in for a face to face interview, which she scheduled for the following Thursday. The interview day came and it was an interview with easy questions, mostly about how one would respond to a certain situation with a customer. I was hired the next day and told to take a drug test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe how you would deal with an angry customer who wants something done that the store cannot do.
It was a simple online interview with 3 chances to record your response for each question. This was in 2021 so unsure if it is the same interview process in 2025.

Interview
We start with a phone interview with an HR team member, then it goes on to an in-person interview with a team leader and if they like you, you move up to an in-person interview with an Executive Team Leader. After that they'll either offer you the job or tell you why you didn't get the position.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to work together with someone else to accomplish a goal.

Interview
You have to go through two interviews with 2 different managers to get hired at Target. It was nice having two different people interviewing to avoid bias. The questions they ask aren't difficult and help you explain your strengths and weaknesses.
