I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Dec 2011
Interview
Target recruiters came to campus and spoke to several different classes and asked students to forward their resumes to the campus career services if we were interested in a job or internship. After career services forwarded the resumes to the recruiters the Target recruiters emailed a list of students back to the career services that they wanted to interview. Two weeks went by and the recruiters conducted face to face interviews with the students they called back. After that a phone interview was set up and you were emailed a skills test that took around 2 hours to complete. After the 30-45 minute phone interview the recruiters took 2 weeks and an offer was made. The recruiters gave 2 weeks to accept or decline the position. After the offer they gave you 24 hours to take a drug test. Overall everyone was very friendly and the experience was very positive.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Recall a time where you failed. How did you fail and what did you learn from it?
Short, quick, personable and exciting so you can't gauge how they feel. That said, very easy and fast process, does not require much preparation, just make sure you can pitch yourself well.
There was a total of three rounds. First was phone screening with recruiter, second was with a manager and third was with a panel of mangers at the distribution center.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC) in Oct 2025
Interview
The initial step was a phone screening, where I learned a lot more about the company and position. I didn't proceed to the next round but the people I spoke with were very friendly.
