I was selected for a final interview and headed that way 45 minutes early, when my GPS opted to select an alternative route due to several reported crashes on 75. I informed TQL that I would seven minutes late based on the timeline that was given to me. Instead of being empathetic and understanding that it was out of my control, they opted to cancel the interview on me, "stating they value reliability and accountability" as if I don't do the same. I left 45 minutes early and anything more, would have been problematic for my son who needed to get on the bus for school. Might I remind you, that this would not even be the schedule I would be working. I even told them thirty minutes or more ahead of my interview time, that my GPS was telling me that I might be late. Their kneejerk reaction in no way embodies who I am as a worker, nor my work ethic. As someone who works in HR, their reaction was overly harsh and definitely an eye opener as to the type of organization they are operating. To think so highly of themselves, that they cannot even go through the motions of the interview for professional appearances. Not somewhere I, nor you, should want to work. A word for TQL, operating on fear does nothing for your workforce, or your horrible retention rates.
