I suspect Storyteller is using these paid tasks as "speculative work" and using this as a way of getting consulting work on the cheap.
I spoke to no one at the company, before being asked to do a task, which I thought was odd and haven't experienced before but I ran with it.
The brief was incredibly in depth and it actually took considerable time, 6 or so hours. Once completed and set off I was hit with a blanket rejection email with no comments. Literally no specific feedback, not even a mention of skills it lacked they were looking for.
I asked for specific feedback a week ago to see what I could improve and I've had no response. The same Job role has been re-posted 2 days ago, in the same region. It's because of this that I suspect Storyteller are Phishing for consultancy work through interviews, highly unethical.
A rejection with clear feedback or a call to go through mistakes is the bare minimum for tech companies these days. Even if this isn't a phishing exercise, their HR department is woeful and needs to rethink candidate experience, as is evident from similar interview reviews.
