Required the submission of five clips, resume, and cover letter. Following that, there were two to three forty-minute long phone calls with other reporters, editors, and staff over three weeks.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Spotlight PA (Harrisburg, PA)
Interview
I'll skip to the second "interview." I was asked to create an audit and roadmap based on their current digital platforms. This was clearly a red flag for free work, but I obliged because I liked what they did and wanted the job. I worked diligently, took my time, and then submitted it. I followed up after two weeks, then again after four, and again after two months. I gave up. I know they read each email because I used Mailtrack but they couldn't be bothered to respond. Shady. I think they collected this work from all the applicants to guide their strategy. Would you want to work for a nonprofit that behaves like this?
