This is the second time I've been contacted for a data scientist role at SWA. The first was back in 2017. The first time I received a phone call from the recruiter to do an initial phone screen and was, then, invited in for a F2F. I spent many hours and days preparing, including examples of my work and a custom analysis on SWA's web traffic. I met with someone from HR and someone from the department I would be working in. They asked the usual questions, but knowing why you want to work for SWA is a huge one, and it's important for a role of this sort to have some experience with common data science tools. I was told the interview went well and was invited back a couple of weeks later for the 2nd round. The day before the 2nd interview they called to say they needed to reschedule, due to some organizational changes. They said they would let me know after new Sr. Director was hired. I waited and waited and waited, tried following up with professional emails inquiring about the status, but kept getting put off. I finally gave up after ~ 6 months and accepted an offer from another company. Fast forward to yesterday, I was contacted by the HR person who initially made contact with me back in 2017. She said they have another Sr. Data Scientist role, so she thought of me. I was hesitant after my last experience, but I really liked this HR person, so I told her I would talk to her. When the time rolled around for our call today, she never called. I reached out to her on Linkedin, but no reply. It's been hours since our scheduled call was suppose to occur. I guess I've been ghosted. I know SWA has been chosen as a great place to work several times, but it's not a great place to interview. Very disappointed.
