This is an extremely competitive job so try being unique with your answers and design them to show of your personality/problem solving skills.
I applied as soon as the job posting went live and shortly after received a telephone interview with a 3rd party client of SWA. The person mostly asked yes/no questions (for ex. Are you at least 20 years of age?) and then at the end a few interview style questions. I’d definitely wish that SWA stops outsourcing this part of the process since I feel like it’s hard to translate passion with someone who isn’t even part of the company you’re interviewing with. Meaning, there isn’t a great connection (in my opinion).
Secondly, you do video interview with a recruiter and another FA which will be the final portion of the interview process. They talk about the company, bases, pay and then ask a lot of interview questions…..be prepared!
Once that is done, you’ll be flown out to do reach test, jump seat test and background.
Everyone is super friendly so relax and be your true authentic self and don’t sound robotic/rehearsed.

What draws you to Southwest?
I applied online. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines (Houston, TX)
Interview
The interview was on zoom in 2022. It was with a recruiter and flight attendant. They were very nice and made me feel so comfortable throughout the process. The whole interview took around 30 minutes.
I applied online. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines (Dallas, TX) in May 2026
Interview
So far, it has been moving at a great pace. I have only completed my on demand interview, and I am scheduled to attend my face to face in the near future! The online interview was great - be yourself, smile, and use the uninterrupted time to really express yourself! I'm very grateful for this opportunity and best of luck to all those applying!
