I applied online. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Apr 2019
Interview
I was expecting a very relaxed process like talking to a friend. This is not what I experienced at all. Every question was fed off a question and focused on negative situations at current job. Be prepared! If you have peace in your life and do not look at life in a negative way you will fail these questions! I stumbled badly and was not prepared for so much negativity. Interviewer was very cut and dry. Interviewer had no idea I passed current flight attendant training (the hardest training in the industry) with a
100%. Interviewer had no idea I fly 95-130 hours a month for 4 1/2 yrs with perfect attendance (no FMLA) and not 1 customer complaint. Interviewer had no idea I am constantly asked how do I always stay so positive and upbeat in life. The interviewer has no idea that I had a baby die of cancer and I do not view a passenger being upset over a delayed flight or a coworker having a negative outlook on life as a bad situation. Those things are petty to me. Again,I had a child die. The interviewer did not ask me how do I not find negativity in the workforce . It was Tell me about negative situations. I walked out of interview feeling very empty! I truly believe working for Southwest would be an amazing opportunity. My interviewer has been working for Southwest for 37 yrs and it was very sad that she no longer has the Southwest spirit that everyone talks about.

The interview was on zoom in 2022. It was with a recruiter and flight attendant. They were very nice and made me feel so comfortable throughout the process. The whole interview took around 30 minutes.

Interview
So far, it has been moving at a great pace. I have only completed my on demand interview, and I am scheduled to attend my face to face in the near future! The online interview was great - be yourself, smile, and use the uninterrupted time to really express yourself! I'm very grateful for this opportunity and best of luck to all those applying!
