Strangest interview, felt like they were fishing for industry information and not interested in me as a candidate. Didn't ask me anything about qualifications for the role. Of course, didn't move on after that.

First HR's screening interview; Then hiring manger's phone interview; then on-site interview meeting 8 people, back to back. HR person was initially okay, reasonable. Hiring manager was great. However, the onsite interviewers were a bit all over the place, some are nice and easy to speak to, the others couldn't care less and sounded like "why are you here"? I walked out of the building, feeling very unwelcome and confused about why I was there, though I believe I tried my best and had great conversations. I followed up a week later, HR told me the feedback was positive, but they had another candidate to interview so will let me know by the end of the week. The weekend passed, no news. I followed up with HR again, no response. Weeks later I got a machine generated rejection email. Not that I was desperate to join them, but I did feel disrespected, a lot. If you look at people's interview experience over the last several years, it's surprising how consistent the negative feedback was about: lack of respect for candidates, no timely communication, not keeping their promise of getting back to people, cold machine-generated rejection letter at the end. How hard is it to fix this, SoFi? It is not so hard! Why not fix it? It is because YOU DON'T CARE to fix it! The moment candidates lost the battle they are useless to you.

The HR was extremely condescending. She talked as if she is doing me a huge favor to get me a phone interview with the hiring manager. She didn't explain anything about the role and did not seem to know much about it.
