I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Shoppers Drug Mart (London, ON) in Jan 2020
Interview
Applied online, went into the store to drop off a physical copy of my resume and got an interview. Interview was straightforward. Make sure that you know a brand at the location that you work at because various locations have different brands.

Do you have any previous experience with cosmetic brands?
I applied online. I interviewed at Shoppers Drug Mart
Interview
Interviewed by the Beauty Boutique manager, as well as the store manager. Beauty Boutique manager was very nice and seemed interested in getting to know my strengths as well as knowledge of makeup for the job. The store manager was very condescending after he found out it would be a first (paying) job. He asked about who owned the company and where the Optimum card could be used (this was prior knowledge, so the questions were answered easily). He also commented on my quietness and told me I should try being more outgoing during the interview. Given time in the end to ask questions about the job I would be doing.

How would your teachers describe you?
(I went to school to become a certified makeup artist)
I applied online. I interviewed at Shoppers Drug Mart (Richmond, BC) in Jun 2018
Interview
I got there a bit early and the manager I was supposed to be doing my interview with had not arrived yet. Since I had some time to kill, I chatted with the beauty advisor that was working and got to know her. I would recommend this if you have a chance, as this allowed me to relax before the interview and also get to know someone who i may be working with. This also allowed the employer to see I got along with the team and could be a team player. The interview itself went well. She asked a lot of situational questions having to do with customer service which were to be expected. She also asked questions on previous makeup work and what I do to keep up with trends and to be informed. They really like if you're up to date on social media and with new launches. The interview took about 20 minutes. My interview was on a friday and i was told i would hear back by the following tuesday about the job - i ended up getting a call the day after the interview from the manager telling me i got the job and to figure out a start day. They are super friendly and understanding as long as you are genuine.
