I applied online. I interviewed at Samsung Israel R&D Center (Herzliya) in Jan 2026
Interview
I had a somewhat unusual interview process. There was no initial phone call—it started directly with an email invitation to a two-hour in-office interview with the Head of AI.
That first interview wasn’t very technical; it felt relaxed, engaging, and overall very interesting.
After that, it took about a week and a half to hear back, and then I was invited to a technical in-office interview.
This round was with two researchers from the team and was split into two parts:
• First hour: similar to the first interview, with more of a “getting to know me” atmosphere, plus a few technical questions about my previous work.
• Second hour: more technical, with questions that gradually increased in depth.
Overall, both interviews had a great vibe, and I had a very positive experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the process was focused on getting to know me.
In the second interview, the discussion centered mainly on image restoration on edge devices. It started at a high level and then moved into deeper technical details—such as the problem setup, loss functions, and overall understanding of the practical constraints and trade-offs in the scenario.
