They had two phone interviews with middle managers who lived in other cities than the one I worked at. Both of them tried to describe the role as much as possible. I then came for an in-person interview, where I talked with the VP of that department, who had flown out, another manager, and a woman who used to have that role. They mostly asked general questions about my background and skills, and tried to answer questions I had about the job. It seemed like they had already decided my skills were suitable and were just making sure I fit with the culture.
