      Network Technician Interview

      May 17, 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Macon, GA
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SPINEN (Macon, GA) in Apr 2019

      Interview

A very shady company and mostly unprofessional company overall. After three rounds of interviews (1hr, 1hr, 30 minutes) the team joined the conference call 10+ minutes late each time. On the third round of interviews, the team forgot. I had to email/call HR in order to get a response from them. The first round was generally questions. What can you do? Your background? Second round asked questions such as networking, routing, problem solving. Third round was salary and potential job offer negotiations. Despite receiving extremely high praise from the ceo and level two networking staff during the first two interviews I suddenly and magically became unqualified to do anything. The position I was applying for, Level II network technician, was suddenly downgraded to a simple desktop support. This was follow up by a super low-ball salary offer of $40,000-$44,000 a year. The initial position, Level II network technician, was going to pay $50,000 - $80,000. I was merely expecting a decent of offer $75,000-$80,000 due to my 10 years of experience + bachelor's degree. This was quite alarming to me. Especially in the amount of hours of time was wasted during the interview process. I would highly recommend all future applications to avoid this company at all cost. They cannot be trusted by their word or salary mentioned on the job description. Good Luck my friends!

I am sorry to hear that you feel your experience interviewing with SPINEN was not a positive one. You are absolutely correct, we do spend quite a bit of time and include senior employees in our interviews in order to ascertain not only an applicant's technical abilities, but also his or her fit for the team. We have been fortunate to attract and retain a great group of folks, and are willing to make the investment in a detailed interview process to ensure we keep adding great people. It is not our intention to waste time (yours or ours) through a lengthy interview process, but, instead, to give both the applicant and our team the opportunity to get to know each other and make an informed decision - after all, applicants are interviewing us as much as we are interviewing them! I am not sure what you mean by the "salary mentioned on the job description" - we do not list salaries in job postings (see spinen.com/careers). We base our salaries on compensation research provided by Robert Half International, Inc., and make offers within those ranges based on applicants' experience. In addition to base salaries, we offer a bonus program based on KPIs which offers employees the ability to increase their total compensation above the ranges shown in the Robert Half research. We make a serious commitment to our employees - starting at the application process - to treat them well, compensate them well, and continue to build a great team. I invite you to call me if you would like to discuss further, and I hope you will apply again in the future. Best of luck to you!
