      Front End Developer Interview

      May 22, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Rooster Grin (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2018

      Interview

The interview process is fairly straight-forward, and it is probably one of the easier interviews people might have. There was one non-technical phone screen, a take-home challenge, and an onsite. The phone screen was a quick phone conversation. They ask you the typical questions like, "Tell me about yourself". They ask you what technologies you're familiar with, and basic questions like that. Then they give you a design mockup you have to code and submit. They provide you with specific things you're supposed to include, and some of it is open for some creativity. The onsite consisted of 3 interviews. They drill you with HTML/CSS trivia, go over your take-home assignment, and ask a simple JS challenge. At the end, you talk with the CEO - mostly behavioral questions. Everyone was really nice, but based on company reviews and my short time there, it's not really a work environment that everyone enjoys. It may be a good place for your first dev job, but they seem to have a high turnover rate.
