The entire process was a disaster from the very beginning.
First off, the recruiter was completely unprofessional. Not only was there a clear lack of communication and follow-through, but they also seemed completely out of it, struggling to schedule interviews or respond on time. I am pretty sure she was on some sort of substance... It was incredibly frustrating and honestly felt like a waste of time. At this point, I don’t know how someone like this is still employed.
The interview process was equally disappointing. It felt as though the interviewers were biased in their preferences, as they seemed to be only focused on hiring European candidates. Diversity was noticeably lacking, and that was a major red flag for me. Additionally, the technical interviews they asked LeetCode-style hard problems that you have to solve in 30 min, which seems designed more to eliminate candidates that do not fit their biases rather than actually assess skills. It’s clear they’re looking for only a specific type of person, and if you don’t fit that mold, you’re pretty much out of luck.
Overall, the entire experience was unprofessional, discouraging, and left me with a sour impression of the company. I would not recommend applying here unless you're ready for a frustrating and demoralizing process. As long as Roku does not fit their biased hiring practices, they will not be able to hire the talent they need and their growth will continue to fall.

Question 1
ALL Leetcode hards are on the menu. They will ask you the most difficult Leetcode hards if they do not like you and do not fit their biases
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Roku (Cardiff, Wales) in Mar 2023
Interview
Straightforward grown up process without silly steps which waste the time of more senior and experienced candidates. Thorough, but not convoluted. I didn’t follow through to the final stage because I got an offer that was impossible to compete with, but I was very impressed with the people I met and the kind of questions and discussions; felt like it was meaningful rather than a pointlessly prescriptive and regimented thing.

It's split into two parts, the first part is to chat about the company with the hr. Learn a bit about the company. The second part is a tech interview with the group you will be working with.
