      Senior Recruiter Interview

      Aug 1, 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Santa Monica, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Riot Games (Santa Monica, CA)

      Interview

This was an 8 hour interview that consisted of a lot of questions about the exact ways in which one interviews candidates, finds people, and does their job on a daily. The questions are asked by people outside of HR/Recruiting so it's not easy to relate. They are very much so looking for people within their world and if they will scale they will need to be open to people with relatable experience.

      Question 1

none- they were al detailed about the job the you do.

      Sr Recruiter Interview

      Feb 23, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Riot Games (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2021

      Interview

It was a decent interviewing experience. 95% of the questions come from their script (majority of which are behavioral based) and solely tie into Riot's Values and Craft (your skill). I got in through a referral. I connected with the HM (person I would be reporting into) for an introductory call, then came a phone interview w/a Sr. Recruiter, then virtual onsite with 5 individuals (1 hour each). Intro call - pretty standard, think of it as a recruiter call to briefly go over your background, experiences, and for you to learn more about the position. Video Phone Interview ( 1hr) - w/a Sr. Recruiter which focused on your "craft". Across the company, your "craft" is essentially how well do you do your job. They follow a script and ask you behavioral based questions. And why Riot? Luckily they removed that prior LoL gaming knowledge requirement. Virtual Video Onsite - w/5 individuals ranging from peers, to leaders to your HM and finally the SLI (senior leader interviewer/hiring sponsor - who gives the final decision on your candidacy). Each person will have a focus: Riot Values (A - candidate experience/thrive together), Communication/Collaboration, Critical Thinking Problem Solving, Riot Values (B - Dare to Dream, Execute with Excellence, and Stay Hungry, Stay Humble [from what I know, this is usually conducted by the SLI so you'd have to do well in this interview]), and Craft again. Questions came from their question bank/script and required you to answer in STAR format since it's all behavioral. The last Craft Interview threw me off because a lot of the questions tested my recruiting knowledge, which TBH any recruiter can look up online and know the answer - ex: what're some OOP languages?

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

This is the final Craft interview I had..non behavioral questions - What're some OOP languages? Which countries have special visas that allow us to hire foreign nationals? What're some web technologies? Name some operating systems? What's the difference between cloud storage vs. cloud computing? What's the Australian visa called? When can candidates apply for the H1B lottery? What's the Singaporean/Chilean visa called?

      Anonymous interview candidate

      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Riot Games (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2016

      Interview

First interview is a phone screen consisting of one 30-minute "Culture Fit" interview conducted by a Recruitment Coordinator. The purpose of this get-to-know-you call is to evaluate whether or not you are a culture fit for their organization before assessing your relevant skills.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

"When you come home at night and are hanging out with your friends, what is your favorite group play video game that you choose to play?"
