It was a very long process; took about 1.5-2 months. There was a total of 3 interviews. Started with a short HR phone call interview with Mike. A week later there was an online Teams behavioural interview with Mike and one other person from HR. Took about 45 minutes with many of the typical behavioural questions including strengths, weaknesses, value to bring to the company, why this company/position, describe a specific situation, etc. I was also asked rating 1-10 questions about the job position requirements, experiences, specific situations, working with different types of manager, etc. The third interview took place about 2 weeks later in-person at their Toronto office with Mike and two of their senior technical staff. It took about two hours; starting with many questions about past experiences, and continued with detailed technical questions on reinforced concrete design for slabs, connections, rebar placement and required length, etc. Followed by a technical evaluation of AutoCAD drawing: basically a series of tasks were given to be completed, such as drawing the elevations, sections of a given plan view. There wasn't a set time given, but it seemed it was expected to be completed within about 20~30 minutes. There weren't complete information given, so basically, your knowledge of CSA and concrete design was tested as well. So, although it seemed to be a drafting technician position, but you should be prepared in various aspects of structural concrete design. Moreover, in between the interviews, I was asked to provide samples of my work and a list of references via email, when I asked them if there is any additional information I could provide. I was rejected less than one week after the last interview.
