      Dog Walker Interview

      Jun 18, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Brooklyn, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at ProspectBArk! (Brooklyn, NY) in Mar 2018

      Interview

The interview was done virtually via Google video. I was asked all about my history with animals and how long I was planning on staying at my current residence. I was also asked about what types of jobs I'd had in the past and if they involved a lot of commuting to different NYC neighborhoods.

      Interview

It is easy because I was already a dog walker and it worked out. I needed more money though so rejected it. All in all, not a bad experience...Just typing enough to fill the word minimum

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ProspectBArk! (Brooklyn, NY)

      Interview

I applied on Indeed.com, then Prospect Bark sent me an email with a link to their own application form (a little annoying because I feel like I already applied, just not on their wesbite). After I filled out their application form I got a call about a week later. Person on the phone was very friendly, kind of took me by surprise. Like not how you would expect a normal interview to go. She asked me about my job history, income requirements, what do i like about dogs, that sort of thing. It was a lot of questions but nothing too hard or crazy. Then I got an email setting up a "field interview". That was a first for me. Never had a interview where I had to walk a dog before! This was with one of their managers who was also very friendly. More questions, mostly about my preferred work hours and what I would do if different emergencies happened with a dog, like an injury. Finally, I got an email about a week later saying that I passed the test and could I come in to the office to meet the owner. This was a little intimidaing, but I thought hey, I came this far. Meeting with the owner was pretty easy, but did take longer than I expected - about an hour. The office is in the city so if you live in Bed-Stuy and are applying for a job in Bed-Stuy, you still have to travel to meet the owner in Manhattan. All in all, I think the interview process is a bit long and has a lot of steps, but I got the job and actually liked it a lot. One of the best jobs I ever had (I mostly worked in food service before) and I miss all the dogs.

      Question 1

If you were walking a dog and he stepped on glass and his paw started bleeding, what would you do?
