The rudest recruiter I've encountered. I cleared the first coding round following which the recruiter mentioned over video call that the other rounds will be scheduled after 5:00pm Dublin time. I happened to mention then, that wasn't ideal for me as I wouldn't be at my best after my hectic 9-5 job as coding rounds can be intense and demanding. Just then without skipping a beat she(the recruiter) goes "You don't have to do this then. You can opt out. You applied for the job. This is not the kind of attitude we're looking for". I have been in Ireland for several years now and have interviewed for several teams thus far, but never have I seen such lack of understanding and quick judgement from a recruiter ever. Even if the interviews couldn't be scheduled at the candidate's preferred time there is no reason to speak to candidates like this. I don't see why a candidate is wrong for trying to negotiate a time that works better for him. At a time when so many have suffered the brunt of lay offs and desperately only want to give their best at interviews, I expect some compassion from big companies like Pinterest. Anyway, I pulled out of the interview process as company culture is one of the first things I look for. I hope Pinterest fixes the approach such recruiters take in forming the first impressions of the company.
