Customer Relations Representative (Los Angeles Territory) Interview

      May 13, 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Paycom (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2015

      Interview

I applied for position on LinkedIn. Got a call a day or so later. Had a scheduled interview with a gal (very young- early 20's) The gal who interviewed me via video conference only asked me to go over my work history, then asked when i graduated from college. After reading reviews on the Glassdoor PAYCOM employees "Cons" i gathered that PAYCOM hires college graduates over older experienced candidates. After she heard my whole work history she pretty much ended the interview and said they would contact me this week (Interview was Monday). While I am an "older" than a recent college graduate, I by no means look anything close to my age but if you hear my work history it is clear i am at least 20 years out of college. My experience perfectly matches the description for Customer Relations Rep. I then emailed the recruiter asking for the email of the gal who interviewed me so i can send a "Thank You for the interview note" and I never heard back. I then received a standard email from an anonymous "HR" email saying: We received a large number of highly qualified applications for the position, it is our top priority to select a candidate who best matches the skills and experience required to excel in this position. While we were impressed with your qualifications, after careful consideration we have decided to pursue other options for this position at this time. IM too OLD for PAYCOM.
