Interview
I had interview rounds with PayPal recently. First of all, the recruiter is in a hurry to set up a call with the hiring manager. He does not even bother to share the job description. Well, fortunately, the discussion goes good with the hiring manager. He gives an overview of the requirement, the product road map and discusses in detail about my experience, and there were a couple of technical process discussions as well. Overall it was a good experience talking to the hiring manager.I got feedback that I had cleared the hiring manager round.
I get a call the very next day from the recruiter. He sets up another discussion round. The other round was with a project manager. I do not recall talking technical deep dive, tech framework or design strategies. However, I felt he was looking for someone specific from the payment domain and he did not seem to me very interested. I knew it was not going in the right direction.
I usually do not post interview reviews in Glassdoor. But could not stop myself posting this time as I was not happy with the way the interviews was planned. I request PayPal Bangalore recruiting team to please have the right set of people in the panel ,screen resume thoroughly and let candidate go through the proper interview process and just don't share unrelated feedback which the candidate did not experience during the interview process. For example - you don't appear for system designing rounds, but, feedback is you are not good at designing, does that make sense? . Let's respect each other's time.
