I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Optiwatt (San Francisco) in Dec 2023
Interview
Standard personal/background interview questions followed by a realistic & appropriate coding challenge for the position. Then some questions & followup discussions. No leetcode shenanigans! Met all the engineering leadership & was really pleasant overall.

Question 1
Non-technical & technical questions related to the role.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Optiwatt (San Francisco) (Columbus, OH) in Mar 2024
Interview
3-stage interview: An introduction, a technical, and a CEO check-in.
Each stage felt appropriately timed and appropriately suitable for the job. I was able to ask tons of questions and get honest answers each step of the way.
The technical was moderately challenging, but very realistic. There were no silly algorithms or code golf that needed played, you just had to prove that you knew how to do the job.
I felt like I could ask any question at any point and get an honest answer, which was huge. I got an offer and can so far say that that transparency in the interview process has certainly transferred over to the workplace!

Question 1
What is something that you've worked on outside of a job in the field of software engineering?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Optiwatt (San Francisco) in Feb 2024
Interview
I applied via LinkedIn. The Engineering Manager reached out to setup an intro call. We talked a bit about my background, what I was looking for and the type of work that Optiwatt was doing.
After that we scheduled a technical interview. The evening before they sent me a link to a GitHub repo to review. During the technical interview I would implement some new features on that repo. The assignment was fairly representative of the work that one would be doing for the role.
Next, we scheduled back to back interviews with the rest of the team and the CEO and Head of Engineering.
An offer came about a week later. The whole process was about 3 weeks.
